Evershade Prologue
A downloadable game for Windows
Evershade is a hybrid between a Visual Novel, a traditional RPG and a detective game.
You play as Emily, a rather rebellious young woman, who isn't in the best of places in her life.
One day she decides, on a whim, to go to a cabin in the woods with her twin sister Alisa, so they can both unwind and hopefully learn to reconnect.
At the cabin, Alisa disappears. Emily is convinced her sister has been kidnapped. She will head towards the mysterious town of Green Carnation, determined to find her missing sister.
Meet all kinds of colourful characters. Will they be your close friends or primary suspects? Or both? It will depend on your interactions and observations.
Throughout your adventure you will collect clues that will take you to different routes in your investigations, routes that branches out towards one of the many possible endings.
The non-dialogue gameplay is more of a traditional Top-Down RPG. You walk around town, talk to NPCs all over the game's world . The city is not empty, there are plenty of collectibles, secrets and side stories to discover while exploring !
Manage your Energy levels with an eating/drinking/sleeping system.
Be also aware of your Mood, which depletes and refills according to happy or sad events that will happen to you.
Evershade is released episodically. Currently, the first chapter (DAY 01) is released.
There will be six chapters in total. It is possible to carry the saves over.

Is it still in development??
I LOVE IT!!! ;D
Hello! Thanks for playing!
It is still in development, Chapter 1 is moving along nicely!
iT is amazing!
Thank you so much for playing!!
Wow, that was great. The writing was a bit "girlish" at places, but it was fine in general. Main story is intriguing enough, and the narrative is pretty consistent to follow. Although I am not a big fan of "supernatural" part, I hope it will turn more to a Lynchian-esque story, rather than... something silly, like "Life is Strange".
Speaking of silly, I think music is fine, but this game deserves something better. Also it can be annoying at times. Idk, maybe it's just my taste for ambient soundtracks. Just saying.
All in all, a great game. A shame that not too many people have played it :( As I can see, you put a lot of effort into menus and interface in general. And the starvation mechanic should be optional in my opinion, for something like "hardcore game mode". It's not a survival horror really. And... I don't want to be an asshole, but I think you should be focusing more on the story, rather than mechanics. I've seen a ton of projects, where people fall into this trap of "make everything interactive". Please finish it as you can, rather than make another Star Citizen (or what's the equivalent of this is in an RPG Maker world).
Oh, and by the way. If someone's wondering: the real game resolution is something like 976 x 579. So if you want to use a custom scaling application that supports modern scaling algorithms (FSR or Anime4k) and not have any jagged edges in the final picture, like I do: press f4 and then resize a game window with a program called Sizer, by typing the desired resolution by hand. These RPG Maker engines can be a real pain sometimes.
Thanks a lot for playing! And for recording the video, it's awesome.
I tend to agree with you on the music. I made it myself, and it is not my strong suit. If I find a legitimate composer, I'd definitely use their music instead.
I am hearing you on the eating and mechanics systems. Maybe I can add a choice of a "Story mode" that would remove the energy/mood system and the various interactive objects, why not.
Resolution wise, the game is supposed to be 960 x 540, which looks sharp on my 1080p displays but jagged on my 1366 x 768 laptop. I'll look into the resolution tools you talked about.
Absolute gem. Good characters and environments. Looking forward to the full game!
Thanks a million for playing! I will update everyone on the project's development shortly!
